Mildred Thornton Ballenger was the daughter of Joseph Ballenger Jr., and Sarah Hensley. Joseph Ballenger Jr., being the son of Joseph Ballenger Sr., and Charity Wade. Joseph Sr.'s parents were Henry Ballinger (note the spelling change) and Mary Harding. Henry was the "immigrant ancestor" coming from England to New Jersey sometime around 1680. He married Mary Harding in 1684 -- she was born and raised in New Jersey.
"Milly" Ballenger married James Martin White 29 May 1775 in Franklin Co., [Virginia?]. They had a daughter, Nancy Kidd White, who married Jesse Mann. Nancy and Jesse produced Narcissa Mann who went on to marry Campbell Milstead.
